The goal of the course is to equip civil society practitioners with up-to-date knowledge and skills essential for data analysis, creating data-based, digital campaigns, or measuring the effectiveness of the Internet-based interventions bringing about a positive social change. 

The learning objectives of the Open Data course are as follows: 
  • to understand the difference between “data” and “information”;  
  • to explain what “Open Data” is;  
  • to list the principles of Open Data;  
  • to outline the Open Data policy guidelines;  
  • to give examples of Open Data services;  
  • to describe different data types and formats;  
  • to choose the appropriate format for different types of data;  
  • to illustrate how to choose the right text encoding format in order to avoid the incorrectly displayed data.

  • Civil society practitioners interested in learning more about the best practices of the Open Data application in the field ranging from global perspective to specific local cases and practical tips. 
  • Trainers and educators motivated to deepen and/or assess their knowledge and skills in this subject.
