Based on our extensive Mapping, Research, and Needs Diagnosis conducted across 10 countries in Europe and Africa, we are developing online, self-paced courses to bridge the foundational gap where funding and technical support fall short, ensuring digital skills become a core competence rather than a barrier for CSOs. By moving beyond generic tech, our learning opportunities will provide you with the custom-built, values-aligned AI solutions that civil society organizations specifically need to advance their missions.

The courses will be centered around the reality and needs of activists and CSOs, as in the areas and objectives listed below:

  • AI Foundations: Identify practical, relevant AI tools and apply them responsibly to real organizational workflows, decision-making, and capacity-building.

  • AI and Information Integrity: Build skills to navigate the digital infosphere, monitor risks, and use AI to protect integrity of information.

  • AI and Digital Safety and Security: Understand AI-driven vulnerabilities, strengthen cyber resilience, and improve data protection and governance.

  • AI and Effective Communication: Hone your skills in practical and ethical AI applications to strengthen your strategic communication capacity.

Why This Matters

Our approach is anchored in three interconnected dimensions:

  • AI literacy and fluency. Civil society organizations need a clear understanding of AI concepts and applications to integrate these tools effectively into their work.

  • Digital transformation and inclusion. AI adoption cannot happen in isolation – it depends on an organization’s digital readiness and equitable access to technology.

  • Ethical dilemmas and responsible use of AI. This central theme is to be covered throughout our resources, as trust and accountability are critical in the nonprofit sector.

By empowering your team, you become better educators and advocates for the communities you serve, especially youth and vulnerable groups.

Coming soon in 2026: Courses and Learning Pathways

The first half of 2026 will see the gradual rollout of the online self-paced courses, starting from May onwards.

In the second quarter of 2026, we will launch our first learning pathway focused on responsible AI adoption. This guided journey will take you from mapping your AI landscape to implementing robust risk assessments and governance structures. We break down the "overwhelming" into manageable, achievable milestones.

In the meantime, we invite you to explore our AI Resource Library starting with the timely articles and guides that will help you leverage AI in your work.
